Climate Impact X (CIX) has approved two registries to CIX Clear, the clearing and settlement service for bilaterally negotiated transactions.
Effective immediately, Approved Carbon Credits (ACCs) issued and verified under the Global Carbon Council Registry (GCC) and Thailand Voluntary Emission Reduction (T-VER) credits issued and verified under the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organisation Carbon Registry (TGO) are available for clearing and settlement via CIX Clear.
With the inclusion of GCC into the list of approved registries, CIX is the first exchange to connect to the complete network of registries currently fully approved by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) for supplying Eligible Emissions Units under the Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA). This network also includes ACR, the Architecture for REDD+ Transactions, Climate Action Reserve, Gold Standard and Verra. As part of this milestone, CIX is introducing its first standardised physical spot contract designed to support CORSIA-eligible credits. Read more about this development here.
The CIX Operating Procedures have been updated to incorporate GCC and TGO as approved registries and ACCs and T-VERs as permissible products under CIX Clear, which can be found here.
CIX Clear accepts only verified credits and RECs from pre-approved certification programmes, as part of a single-project, multi-project or portfolio transaction. In addition to the above registries, other approved programmes include Carbon Standards International, EcoRegistry, Evident and Puro.earth.
Please ensure that the appropriate members of staff within your organisation and customers are advised of the content of this notice.

About Global Carbon Council
The Global Carbon Council (GCC) is the first international carbon credit and sustainable development program, based in the Global South. It was established (as Global Carbon Trust) by the Gulf Organisation for Research and Development (GORD) in 2016.
The GCC Program contributes to a more sustainable and low-carbon future, by registering high- quality projects from around the world that have demonstrated their additionality in the reduction or removal of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, while ensuring that project construction and operations do not cause any net-harm to the environment and society.
