CIX Cookstoves X (CCX) is a set of global standardised contracts comprising improved cookstove projects, capturing price trends from four key corners of the market.
Improved cookstoves are the most pervasive household device credit-type with wide-ranging benefits beyond carbon reduction. According to the World Health Organisation, a third of the global population remain without access to clean cooking. Traditional cooking practices contribute significantly to global emissions, indoor air pollution and increased pressure on existing forests stocks. Women and children in the least developed parts of the world are disproportionally affected, suffering from toxic smoke and time poverty as they are often tasked with collecting firewood.
CCX contracts are segmented by project location (Least Developed Countries and Developing Countries) and methodology (Gold Standard and Verra), enabling market participants to select and trade cookstoves credits in accordance with attributes that matter the most.
